Assistant Art Director (Vancouver)
Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for a passionate and aesthetically sharp Assistant Art Director to help produce one of the boldest, most visually audacious magazines currently available on newsstands worldwide.
Adbusters, the journal of the mental environment, is a staple of the counterculture. For three decades, our collective of dissidents and dreamers has been smashing ads, castigating corruption, and taking the powers that be to task — without ever accepting a single corporate dollar. From Buy Nothing Day to #OccupyWallStreet, we've been at the helm of some of our era's definitive toneshifting moments. Become a key part of our mission to forge radical new ways to live, love, and think.
The Assistant Art Director will work closely with our Creative Director, Art Director and Editor in Chief to create layout and material for print and web use. The Assistant Art Director's job consists primarily of the following tasks:
- Researching and creating visual material for both print and web;
- Preparing visual material for print (pre-flight).
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator);
- A background in Art & Design or a related field;
- Knowledge of FTP, online newsstands, ecommerce, and imaging for web is a bonus.

Backend Programmer (Vancouver)
Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for an experienced backend programmer with political savvy to round out our Vancouver office. The backend programmer will work closely with our staff, including the editor-in-chief, to create a web-based activist app to promote campaigns addressing the most urgent causes of our day and to engage with activists worldwide. A successful candidate will have 2-3 years' worth of relevant experience. A passion for reckoning with the pressing issues of our time is a huge bonus.
Key qualifications:
- 2-3 years' worth of backend-programming experience
- Familiarity with website gamification and app-building technologies
- Experience working with a diverse, passionate team
- Familiarity with Adbusters magazine, as well as our books & campaigns

Campaign Manager (Vancouver)
Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for an experienced, politically savvy campaign manager to round out our Vancouver office. The campaign manager will work closely with editorial staff, including the Editor-in-Chief, to coordinate activist campaigns addressing the most urgent causes of our day and to spread the word on the Web. A successful candidate will have 2-3 years' worth of organizing and/or communications experience. A passion for reckoning with the pressing issues of our time is must.

- Strong writing skills
- 2-3 years' worth of relevant professional experience
- Experience working with a team of writers, editors and contributors
- Familiarity with Adbusters magazine, as well as our books & campaigns

Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for a seasoned, politically savvy freelance graphic designer to join us in our activist adventures. On an occasional basis, the freelance graphic designer will work closely with our art and editorial staff, including the editor-in-chief, to help create visual material for our magazine and website. The successful candidate will have plenty of professional experience and a passion for reckoning with the pressing issues of our time.

- Competence with digital tools such as Photoshop and InDesign
- Familiarity with Adbusters’ magazines, books and campaigns

Game Developer (Vancouver)
Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for an experienced, politically savvy game developer to round out our Vancouver office. The game developer will work closely with editorial staff, including the editor-in-chief, to contribute web-gaming material to our website. A successful candidate will have 2-3 years’ worth of development experience. A passion for reckoning with the pressing issues of our time is a must. Knowledge of Webflow and/or Shopify is a plus.

Adbusters Media Foundation is looking for an experienced, politically savvy Senior Web Editor to round out our Vancouver office. The Senior Web Editor will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to develop original material for publication online, and to adapt the unmistakable sensibility of our print magazine for the peculiarities of the Web. A successful candidate will have art least five years' worth of professional writing and/or editing experience. A passion for reckoning with the pressing issues of our time is a huge boon.

Social Media Editor (Vancouver)
We are looking for a passionate, politically charged, and mature Social Media Editor to bolster our Vancouver team of activists, artists, dreamers and redeemers.

The Social Media Editor will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief. Your job consists primarily of the following tasks:
- Creating and curating material suited to each social-media platform
- Advancing activist campaigns and inciting digital jams
- Promoting magazines and other merchandise
- Communicating with readers and the broader public
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

- Video-editing and image-manipulation skills
